We are currently looking for a motivated individual to fill the developmental position of Contracts Assistant.  This position will support the Contracts team to ensure continuance of daily operations as well as timely submission, receipt and tracking of departmental correspondence. This is an exciting entry level position for someone looking to begin a career in the Contracts field.

A Developmental Learning Plan will be provided to the successful candidate outlining the required training commitments. Incremental responsibilities will be assigned as you gain knowledge and progress through the Development Program.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Receive, record and distribute departmental correspondence
  • Ensure timely submissions between North Warning System Office and Nasittuq employees
  • Track departmental correspondence and project dates
  • Maintain Project File folders and Project File database
  • Process Customer Support Requests (CSR) and Third Party Support Requests (TPS) in Maximo database
  • Relief for Front Reception
  • Various other duties to support the Contracts team as assigned

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous clerical/administrative experience and ability to learn new systems
  • Knowledge of contracting procedures considered an asset
  • Solid MS Office skills (Word and Excel)
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented with solid organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to take direction, work independently in a team environment and maintain confidentiality and professional comportment
  • Must be eligible for a Government of Canada Security Clearance of Enhanced Reliability

Candidates must be Land Claim Beneficiary members from the Nunatsiavut, Nunavik, Nunavut or Inuvialuit Settlement Region and self-identify to be considered.
