Payroll Assistant – Ottawa, ON

We are currently looking for a motivated individual to fill the developmental position of Payroll Assistant. This position will support the Payroll team in ensuring all employees are paid timely and accurately while complying with federal and provincial legislations. This is an exciting entry level position for someone looking to begin a career in the Payroll field.
A learning plan will be provided to the successful candidate outlining the required training commitments. Incremental responsibilities will be assigned as you gain knowledge and progress through the Development Program.
Main responsibilities include:
- Data entry
- Filing
- Preparing various reports and statistics
- Various administrative duties to support Human Resources team
- Other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous clerical/administrative experience and ability to learn new systems
- Solid MS Office skills (Word and Excel)
- Self-motivated, detail oriented with solid organizational and communication skills
- Ability to take direction, work independently in a team environment and maintain confidentiality and professional comportment
- Must be eligible for Enhanced Reliability security clearance
Candidates must be a Land Claim Beneficiary member from the Nunatsiavut, Nunavik, Nunavut or Inuvialuit Settlement Region and self-identify to be considered.
